EQMonitor respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it.

  • Location: With your explicit permission we may access your approximate location to show where youre at, and alert you for nearby earthquakes. Location access is optional and controlled by your browser and device settings.
  • Usage data: We may collect anonymous usage information (e.g., page views) to improve the site.

2. How We Use Information

Location data is used only to show your position on the map relative to seismic events and to decide whether to play nearby alerts. We do NOT sell or share your precise coordinates with third parties.

3. Storage & Third Parties

We may use third-party services (e.g., Firebase Realtime Database) for presence/counting viewers. Data stored there is limited to a session identifier; it does not include precise personal identifiers.

4. Your Choices

You can revoke location permissions via your browser or device settings at any time. The app stores only a local preference indicating whether you allowed location; you can clear browser storage to remove it.
